VP International Accounting

he Vice President, International Accounting provides direction and administration for all financial operations in United Guaranty’s International group of companies. This individual will be accountable for long range and day-to-day financial operations of AIG United Guaranty.

•As appropriate provide back up to the Senior Vice President and Controller in carrying out duties and activities.
•Lead the corporate controllers group in change implementation through recommendation and review of potential process improvements of United Guaranty’s financial operations.
•Oversee recordkeeping, tax filings and auditing to ensure processes and procedures follow legal requirements and management needs.
•Serve as primary contact at United Guaranty for outside auditors, the Internal Revenue Service, insurance examiners.
•Stay abreast of current events and pronouncements of Financial Accounting Standards Board to ensure United Guaranty is up-to-date, informed and compliant with U.S.GAAP and International accounting regulations.

Knowledge, Skill, Experience:
•BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
•Master’s degree preferred
•Certified Public Accountant designation
•8-10 years experience in accounting/finance, preferably in the insurance industry
•Advanced knowledge of GAAP financial statements
•Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to multi-task
•Proficient use of Microsoft Office Products, AS400 applications and web-based software
