Corporate Accounting Policy & Research position is responsible for the research and resolution of investment accounting matters. A CPA designation, relevant Statutory and GAAP investment accounting experience, including FAS 133, FAS 140 and FIN 46R, and industry experience from insurance, financial services or public accounting is preferred. The level of this position ranges from Consultant to Director depending upon the candidate’s relevant accounting and industry experience.
This position is an excellent high visibility opportunity for someone interested in working with high level personnel and technical guidance in determining the proper accounting and reporting of investments.
The position is responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the relevant accounting guidance, company investments and effective relationships with Company personnel to provided consultation services, including accounting, reporting, investment structures, operations and business decisions.
This position will also work with the external auditors in resolving accounting and reporting matters.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position develops and maintains investment accounting research, policies and practices to meet regulatory and management requirements; directs and coordinates the recording, reporting, review and preservation of financial information; and provides accounting consultation and service to Company management.
RELATIONSHIP:
This position, at the Senior Consultant/Director level, reports to the Accounting Policy & Research Officer and will have direct reports. This position, at the Consultant/Manager level, reports to an Accounting Policy & Research Director and will have no direct reports.
